Visit to the Physics Institute
On March 15th several students from Year 10 and 13 and me, we went on a science excursion with our physics teacher Mr. Mihajlo. We went to the Physics Institute.
We visited three different labs where Mr. Mihajlo used to work. We learnt how lasers worked and we saw the area where they detect cosmic rays and muons. We learnt about insulation and ventilation. They showed us the supercomputer which they use for all the simulations within the Institute. They also showed us how they detect sand particles from the Sahara desert and how they affect the weather.
The visit was very interesting and useful because this was the good opportunity for us to see the things that we talked about in classes and now we saw the practical side of it.
