School trip to The National Bank Of Serbia

PRIMA International School took economics and business studies students to The National Bank of Serbia.

The Visitor Centre has showcased several themed exhibitions as part of various cultural

events, as well as to mark important dates in the National Bank of Serbia’s history. The biggest exhibition was «Money in the Territory of Serbia» has been conceived so as to present an overview of the money in use in the territory of Serbia from the time of its first appearance to the current monetary issues. It was distributed into groups such as : Greek Money, Roman Money and Byzantine Money. The next exhibition we were showed was “The Dinar – Our Money” that features a range of domestic and foreign bank bill originals and counterfeits, we even got to touch and compare the fake bank note from the real one, we were told that the use of fake back notes around Serbia used to be very popular and many people in the markets or kiosks weren't able to tell the difference between the two. Actually there are many features that can distinguish between real and fake, such as the water mark and also there is a system called Braille, this is a system of raised dots that can be read with the fingers by people who are blind. At the end of our tour through The National Bank Of Serbia, we could also

make our own coins, using an old machine for coin minting.
