PRIMA’s UN day
As every year, PRIMA International School celebrated the UN day: United Nations Day is devoted to making known to people of the world the aims and achievements of the United Nations Organization.
In PRIMA, students of the same nationality used to get together and they made a booth consisting of food, posters and interesting items of their country.
But this year we made a celebration in which every year group in the secondary department transformed a classroom in a given country. This time the celebration was introduced by the Prima valedictorian for the school year 2017/2018 who told us what we were celebrating and why United Nations is an important organisation. Year 7A presented Italy, year 7B Mexico, year 8 Croatia, year 9 South Africa, year 10 Australia, year 11 China, year 12 USA and year 13 Russia. Every year, students can also vote for the best one. This year the winner was year 11 China. There was Chinese food, there were very interesting information about China, the classroom was nicely decorated with red dragons and there was even a student writing your name in Chinese on a special paper with a calligraphic pen. It was really nice! This day was a magnificent day in which everybody learned a lot about each presented country. We all enjoyed this day and different food and we are already waiting for the next year’s UN day!
Sultan, Year 12 student made a quiz about which country you come from. If you have time, you can find the answers on the following link https://www.buzzfeed.com/darkfire075/what-country-r-u-3p229?utm_source=dynamic&utm_campaign=bfsharecopy&utm_term=.kjKma7kXpA
