The Great Wall
Finishing talking on food let's move on to the places in China. I think everyone knows about the Great Wall, thousands of miles from north to west China over the mountains, through the deserts, was build some 2000 years ago, and is a man‑made wonder of world. But do you know there is a legend about it.
This story happened a long time ago. At that time, the emperor of China was levying 800000 migrant workers to build the Great Wall. The government arrested people everywhere as migrant workers, and the people who were arrested built the Great Wall working day and night, not knowing how many of them would die because of the tiredness. There is a scholar in Suzhou called Fan Yuliang, who was hiding around in order to escape the pursuit of the government. One day he was hiding in the garden Mengjia, he accidentally met Mengjiangnu. Mengjiangnu is a beautiful smart girl that helped him. In the agreement of her parents they married. Three days after the wedding day, Fan Yuliang was caught by the government and made him work as migrant workers. Mengjiangnu was crying and waiting for her husband to come back. But half year after nothing happened. She made a decision to find his husband back. She knows that Great Wall is on the north, and it is very cold there. She made the cloth for herself, got on the way. Finally she got to the Great Wall. Who knows which migrant workers in Great Wall told her that he was dead and the bones were filled into the wall. After hearing this news, Mengjiangnu only felt dizzy and dark, suddenly fell to the ground. After waking up, she burst into tears. Don’t know how long she cried, she heard a loud noise, the Great Wall was collapsed for dozens of miles. She found the bone of her husband and cried. The emperor saw how beautiful she was, wanted to force her to be his wife. Mengjiangnu agreed, but he needed to do three things first: to bury Fan Yuliangwell;personally cry for Fan Yuliang;take Mengjiangnu enjoy the fun for three days. Emperor agreed. After first two things finished they got on the boat. Mengjiangnu took a bite from emperor and jumped into the rolling sea.
