Milica's Chronicle
Summer, are you there?
The last issue of PRIMA Inspirer this school year is here! It has taken a lot of time and effort to get from not having a school magazine at all to having a well-established monthly edition. Although our motto is “by students 4 students”, nothing would be possible without the help of our lovely Secondary teachers which have selflessly guided us through this process. Mr Srdjan, your role is crucial in the making of PRIMA Inspirer and I would like to especially thank you for not giving up on this magazine (even though there were many times when it felt like there was no point in keeping the website running anymore).
We have accomplished a lot so far, but there is much more to do. The key step in the development of our magazine is gaining independence. By that, I mean that Magazine Club members (myself included!) should be able to organise meetings by themselves and run the issue with as little help from teachers as possible (by students 4 students, remember?). Therefore, I ask all current and prospective members to think about in which direction our magazine should move towards and how we should improve PRIMA Inspirer. School Clubs are not supposed to be a dreadful obligation, but a fun activity where you get to do the things which are not a part of the official school curriculum. The only way to make Inspirer an interesting experience for everyone, both the creators of the content and the readers, is to get involved as much as possible. No one should be telling us what to do and what to write about. Instead, our own ideas should shape the magazine into something which students willingly read on a regular basis in order to get informed about current school affairs.
I have a feeling that the magazine is mainly read by the staff and parents, which receive monthly notifications about PRIMA Inspirer via email. Our priority for the next school year should be to target students as our main audience, since this idea is entrusted in our motto. Summer is almost three months long. Although the majority of that time will be spent on relaxation and holidays, I firmly believe that everyone can dedicate a few hours during the break to research and develop ideas about the future content of PRIMA Inspirer. All ideas are welcome!
I hope that when we come back to school in September, you are filled with ideas and ready to discuss them during our club meetings. I also invite every interest student to join us on this journey of creating and sustaining the first student magazine in Prima. Although I will spend some time during summer thinking about different ideas regarding Inspirer, I cannot run this magazine all by myself.
I am looking forward to an even better version of PRIMA Inspirer next school year! Magazine Club members, be ready for an interesting year filled with fun and hard work (yes, both can be achieved at the same time, trust me).
Till September,
Milica
