Milica's Chronicle

Time flies by really quickly. It is already November, but it feels like this school year has started only a few weeks ago. I have this impression that there was no time for autumn to happen; it is as if it was erased by the prolongation of summer and the early arrival of winter. The proximity of winter is further emphasised by all the Christmas decorations placed around Belgrade early this month. Is it really necessary to have an enormous Christmas tree in the middle of the main square two months before the actual Christmas?

Anyhow, since winter is approaching at a faster pace than ever, we have to be prepared for all the good and the bad it brings with itself. Short days, cold nights and foggy mornings are usually the first things that come up to our minds when we think of winter. If you are a student, another association with this season is the end-of-term exams, not something you typically look forward to.

Although winter is not as pleasant and carefree as summer is, that does not mean we cannot make the best out of it. Drinking hot chocolate, listening to music or reading a book in your cozy room while it is snowing outside does not seem so bad, does it? Also, are we ever old enough not to enjoy a snowball fighting with our friends (or even better with people we are not very fond of)? Of course, we cannot forget about Christmas. The food, the decorations, the presents and the overall experience make up for all the unpleasant things that winter comes with. Even if you do not celebrate this holiday, you will still benefit from the vibrant atmosphere all around the city and the huge discounts in stores (let's be honest, Christmas deals are one of the best things about winter).

All in all, I wish you the best winter so far! I hope that the articles, pictures and videos we have prepared for you in this month's issue keep you entertained throughout these cold days.

Till next time,

Milica
