Interview with a Teacher

We continue getting more familiar with our dear teachers. Our interviewee in this issue is Ms Duda Kursulic. We know her as a very stylish and calm teacher, who is teaching us history and sociology. She was so polite as to answer the following questions:

PI: How long have you been teaching?

Ms Duda: Since 2002. At first I was teaching for one year and a half at one private university; then I was a teacher at two other international schools and this year I am celebrating the 10 year anniversary at PRIMA International School.

PI: What did you study at the University?

Ms Duda: I sudied international relations and history, as you probably already know. But I also studied English literature for 2 years and I also had French as a minor. I have a master’s degree in International Relations.

PI: How did you find out about PRIMA?

Ms Duda: Some of my colleagues and I worked together earlier and as soon as PRIMA opened the secondary department, they called me to see if I would like to work with them.

PI: What was your childhood like?

Ms Duda: Wonderful. I spent my childhood abroad in schools similar to PRIMA. My experience of education in international environment is very good and that’s why I think that this kind of education is excellent and I am honored to work in one international school in my home country. Being educated in multicultural environment is very beneficial. Being an educator, too.

PI: How do you see yourself in 20 years?

Ms Duda: Being an accomplished writer, fashion designer or owner of an antique shop .

PI: Do you often travel abroad?

Ms Duda: Sometimes. Although I like traveling, I do not like traveling too often. I’ve lived abroad from the age of 7 and I think that it is much better to live in a different country for some amount of time than to travel for a couple of weeks. I like getting acquainted with different cultures and some usual holiday trip is not enough for that.

PI: What food do you like to cook?

Ms Duda: I like to eat, but I do not like to cook.

PI: What’s your favorite music?

Ms Duda: Alternative.

PI: What does happiness mean to you?

Ms Duda: Piece of mind and minimised anxiety.

PI: What was the funniest moment of your life?

Ms Duda: When Ms Dragana and I were getting lost over and over again in the hotel in Prag, because neither of us has any sense of direction. Every single day of our school trip we could not find the the way to the restaurant to get the breakfast. And we loved that breakfast.

PI: Do you work out?

Ms Duda: Yes, I do. I work out, using the phone app.

PI: Why should students study history?

Ms Duda: So they can understand present from past actions and not repeat the mistakes, and so they can be ready for their future endeavors.

PI: And why should students come to PRIMA?

Ms Duda: Because my colleagues are accomplished, professional, experienced people who are also fun and have a good sense of humor. Students would enjoy their classes.

We as students would describe Ms Duda just the same way she described her colleagues. We are looking forward to our future history lessons, but also to seeing Ms Duda as an acomplished writer or a fashion designer!

And we hope, that our readers are looking forward to our next inspiring teacher!
