Charity Art Auction

School life in Prima would not be the same if there were no charity events. Although Prima's annual "Walk A Mile For A Smile" is the main charity event, there are many other occasions throughout the year when students, parents and teachers gather together with one common goal:to help someone in need.

"Cookie&Art With A Heart" was held for the first time in 2016, but there are no doubts that this charity event will soon become an annual event which everyone will look forward to in many years to come. What makes this auction different from other charity events in the school is the level of involvement of students.

Almost every student in Prima put their effort into making an art piece for the auction, because students knew that the proceeds from the art work go to the people who need our help.

Besides the Students' Artwork Auction, there was also the Silent Auction. Anyone who wanted could donate 1000RSD or more in order to be entered in this auction. By entering the auction, they could have potentially won one of the many artworks which established artists donated as their contribution to this charity. Another part of our charity was the bake sale. which was organised by parents of primary students.

All the proceeds went to DEBRA, an international medical research charity dedicated to curing epidermolysis bullosa (EB). It is a genetic condition which causes the skin to be extremely fragile. EB affects 1 in 17000 people and so far, there is no cure for it. However, there are expensive treatments which can prevent pain and wounds in some cases.

We hope that we, by organising this event, helped someone with this disease to afford treatments. We look forward to organising many more charities and helping as many people as we can.

Alone we can do little, together we can do a lot.
