St. Sava Day
Sveti Sava day is a national school slava which celebrates the life of Saint Sava, the first Archbishop of the Serban church who is renowned for his work one in making the serbian church independent and allowing it to merge with the state thus creating the first Serbian Kingdom.
Saint Sava is also known for the founding and reconstruction of notable monasteries such as Hillandar on Mount Athos, Studenica in Kraljevo and Mileseva in Prijepolje. The church of Saint Sava in Belgrade is dedicated to him and it is recognized as one largest churches in the world.
In Prima International we have honored him through the play that the primary department has diligently prepared and presented to the preschool and secondary department, gaining approval and praise to reward their hard work.
Regarding the Secondary department, the student council had prepared a presentation to explain the meaning of the event to our international students, which was followed by the traditional spinning and breaking of the kolac after some wine was pored on it, as the bread represents the body and wine the blood of Jesus Christ.
