Interview with a Teacher

Hello Mr Pavlos, thank you for doing the interview for “Prima Inspirer”. We are going to start with some standard questions and then go to more interesting ones hopefully.

First, how long have you been living in Serbia?

I’ve lived in Serbia for 6 years now.

How long have you been a teacher?

I’ve worked in Prima for 6 years, and previously I worked in a school in Tirana, Albania.

Have you always wanted to study History and be a teacher?

Well, when you’re younger you have many plans and dreams. But I was never good at Maths or Sciences so I didn’t really have a choice, and I believe studying History is very important. You can understand what is going on in your country and in the rest of the world.

What is your favourite thing about Serbia?

My family. I moved here because of them. I also like that people are trying to live nicely after everything they’ve been through. It’s also clean, at least where I live in Zemun, the streets are clean and I think that’s very important.

What’s the thing you like least about living in Serbia?

Well, I read in newspapers and see that many people are not as privileged as me to have a job and earn money. There is a lot of unemployment and I hope the government will do something for them.

What are your hobbies?

I play basketball and I like exercise, like going to the gym. I also like watching movies and TV shows, especially Criminal TV shows.

Do you have an interesting fact about yourself you would like to share with “Prima”?

I am a perfectionist, as my students have probably noticed, and I want that from them as well. I always try to get a 100% out of them.

What music do you listen to?

I like Greek alternative music. Also, I used to be a Greek folk dancer, so I like to sometimes listen to that music. I sing in a Church too.

Thank you, I also asked some students if there was anything they’d like me to ask you, and here are some of their questions:

How many languages do you speak?

Well, I speak Greek, English, obviously, French at a decent level. I also have a degree in German, but the beginner’s level and during my Masters studies I took some classes of Arabic, but only for a short time since I was very busy. I believe speaking a language that not many people speak is a very good and useful thing.

And the last question, what is your favourite football team?

Panathinaikos , and I also like Barcelona a lot.

Mr Pavlos, thank you for doing the interview for the school magazine. Is there anything else you’d like to tell our readers?

Well, I just hope after this interview the students won’t be that scared of me hahaha.
