Around Town
Throughout the still dull and gray month of February, there is not much going on in Belgrade - the otherwise usually hectic capital of Serbia. Everyone would rather organize house parties or sleep until the beginning of spring. However, there are still a few cultural events for the more adventurous to enjoy, as Belgrade’s Music, Film, and Art scenes never really rest. They always have a few energetic events in their back pockets for the brave February folk!
Music
The worldwide famous American Celtic punk band, Dropkick Murphys are performing on the 28th February in the cultural center of Dom Omladine. They are a must-see group for any rock music enthusiast due to their unique Celtic influence that has largely attributed to their Mainstream success. They are currently touring to promote their 9th studio album, ‘11 Short Stories of Pain & Glory’.
Art
The Remont is one of the most culturally significant galleries in Belgrade. It showcases domestic talent in exhibitions featuring many different art forms such as photography, painting, sculpture, and video installation. This is the perfect gallery if you are interested in aspiring Serbian artists who are about to break through in their own respective art medium.
Film
The Belgrade Film Festival, FEST, lasts until 5th March. It is one of the most important cultural events in Serbia as it showcases the best of both international and domestic films. It is a highly reputable and praised event that has been able to attract major film stars and directors such as Milos Forman, Robert de Niro and Johnny Depp.
